Journal for the Study of Religion, Nature & Culture, 9(1), 68–86 (EBSCO) The inability of the nation-state system to handle contemporary environmental issues comprehensively has spurred greater cooperation between religious and secular civil society actors. An empirical analysis of the Alliance of Religions and Conservation (ARC) contributes to knowledge about this process on an organizational and identity level. Tracing the mobilization of economic resources shows that the ARC functions as a boundary organization between self-declared religious and secular, local, national, and international actors, while the opening ceremony of the 25th anniversary of the ARC illustrates the identity construction of the organization's network. This identity is based on a commitment to religious pluralism and a strong emphasis on humanity as an integral part of nature. In conclusion, the ARC is considered as an expression of the rise of what Daniel Deudney (1998) and Bron Taylor (2010a) have termed Terrapolitan Earth Religion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

These provisions encompass changes affecting U.S. individuals and entities, both domestically and internationally. Claiming that the change would "pay for itself," the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act intends to stimulate the economy. The large tax cuts may have created short-term economic growth; however predictions suggest that in the long-run, the increased spending and the decline in tax revenue will significantly raise the U.S. budget deficit.
Ghatak, S. (2016). Challenging the State: Effect of Minority Discrimination, Economic Globalization, and Political Openness on Domestic Terrorism. International Interactions, 42(1), 56–80. (EBSCO) Discrimination against minority groups is a robust predictor of domestic terrorism. However, economic and political openness might further facilitate mobilization of such aggrieved sections of a larger population. This study relates economic and political openness to minority discrimination in explaining vulnerability to domestic terrorism. Terrorism is a rational choice when a minority’s deprivation of public good provisions increases, while global economic integration and limited political openness facilitate rebel mobilization. Using data on 172 countries, I find strong support that countries discriminating against minority groups are more likely to experience domestic terrorist attacks when their economic and political systems open up.
